Jackie Robinson
1919 – 1972
UCLA letterman in four sports. Court-martialed and acquitted in 1944 for refusing to move to the back of an Army bus. Broke the modern color line in Major League Baseball with the Brooklyn Dodgers on April 15, 1947. Six-time All-Star. Hall of Fame, 1962. A committed civil rights organizer before, during, and after his playing career.
